It's summer in New Zealand...

... and Christmas is almost here! It's time to start preparing for all the fun of barbecues, beaches and catching up with family and friends.

Here at Qlabs we are looking forward to a well earned break and we'll be back refreshed and ready to go next year.

We would like to thank you all for supporting us this year and we hope you have a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.

Take care over the holidays and we'll see you next year - 2019!

Out and about with Ray

Recent warm, early summer rains throughout the country have brought on a real flush of clover and herbs. This will thicken up the "bottom" of pastures producing top quality feed going into the new year. It's interesting to note observations year in , year out. After all this becomes the basis of agriculture. One observation that has been made over the generations is that the clover/herb base of summer pasture growth doesn't 'kick into life until the rain falls at 20°C. We can have as many 20°C plus days as you like, take last November for example, but clover growth in permanent pasture wont hit it's straps until the rain falls at 20°C.

On a personal note, I have been officially informed that I will be having surgery to have a titanium disc replacement in my lower back within the next four months. I can't wait to be pain free and back on the road visiting all the farmers/growers we work with.
