Recently I attended the NZ Blueberry Association fielday on Mike and Angela Roy's property - PioPio Berry Orchard. Mike and Angela started working with Qlabs in 2011 when they were having problems with under-performing Blueberries - they were only yielding an average of 1.5 kg/plant. Now their mature plants are producing 12 kg/plant. As there are younger plants at various stages of establishment and maturity, the average yield across the orchard is around 8kg/plant. This equates to a 433% increase in yield without losing any flavour or quality, (their strawberries were also voted 'the best in NZ' in a poll conducted by TV One's Seven Sharp programme in 2015)."If you need to change what you are doing, the first thing you need is to be prepared to step outside the square that you are in."Qlabs utilises advanced technology to develop farm and grower customised coordinated soil-plant-animal nutrition programmes. So why did we choose Fallain?

We choose a Scottish word to acknowledge our agricultural heritage and as respect for the pioneering farmers/growers.
What the logo represents.
- The plant represents the link in all food production systems.
- The world represents the finite resources that we have to work within.
- The blue ring represents the Nitrogen cycle.
- The green ring represents the Carbon cycle.
Management of the Carbon/Nitrogen cycle is the key to sustainability and increasing food production to meet growing demand.

Congratulations Graeme Dyke
Graeme has been working with Qlabs since 2009 - getting the basics right, feeding, breeding and weeding.Tender steak comes from Pahiatua.
Spur of the moment entries into Beef & Lamb New Zealand's Steak of Origin competition won gold and bronze for Pori Red Devon breeder Graeme Dyke.He went into the grand final where he was placed fourth overall in the nationwide competition.

...clients Bill and Shirley Wright, from Cave Canterbury, featured on Rural Delivery on the 23rd September. Bill and Shirley have been working with Qlabs since 2010 - soil testing and fertiliser programmes along with herbage analysis and balancing ration formulations. It is of great interest that AgReseach has monitored their farm and come up with environmental and production results that go a long way in verifying that, with the right technology, farmers can increase production and manage their environmental impact.
